How do you read more than one book at a time? And which one is the best? I need some suggestions for book club - which is relatively tame around here:)
Tame but wonderful--definitely Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society--a fun, well written book borrowing from Jane Austen but educational about WWII Britain. It's about a bookclub! Mona is a mind blower--a chinese girl converts to Judaism in the 60's--a cultural mind-freak which is up my alley but maybe not for bookclub. Just started Olive Kitteridge-- it is for grown ups. Great writer. I find myself frustrated with Olive, only to see that I am like her in some ways that I can't stand. I think graduate school made me a multi-book reader. Finished Guernsey a while ago--When I want to visit Olive, I read her. When I want to visit Mona, I read her. Then I turn on Mad Men and wish I looked like January Jones. I saw Dan!! It was so fun to see him at the campfire--a total suprise. He's one of those good ones.
